Hello, my name is...

Ms. Bogar

  Welcome to my page!

Greetings parents, guardians, and scholars:

I will be teaching English I and English I Honors for the 2018-2019 school year. I look forward to working with students and parents in order to have a successful experience in the classroom.

Here's a little about my background:

After earning my Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Mass Media from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, I worked at the National News Desk of The Associated Press in New York City.

While at The AP, I wrote and edited state summaries that appeared in USA Today, wrote music reviews and monitored databases. This was an amazing opportunity that exposed me to the world of print and online journalism.

I transitioned into teaching when substituting in South Orange Public Schools and subsequently landed a Language Arts Literacy position at Jersey City Community Charter School. I later taught both middle school and high school in the city of Newark.

My background includes Curriculum Development, serving as the Newspaper Club Advisor, Literary Magazine Advisor, facilitator of a public speaking club (Stand & Deliver), tutoring, ESL teacher, and writing coach.

I enjoy teaching and look forward to making a difference in our scholar's lives, one day at a time. My job is to ensure that students are not only prepared academically once they leave high school, but also that they are prepared for the real world.

Be sure to check the Genesis Parent Portal often for your scholar's grades and attendance. I am available for extra help after school on Tuesdays & Wednesdays until 4 p.m.

Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions, suggestions or concerns.

I can be reached at: or 862-234-0478.
