Principal's Message

Greetings, ACHS Community,

I bring greetings to you during this momentous month in celebration of Black History.
Throughout this month, the ACHS student body will be celebrating the events that have shaped our past as well as crafting a future that honors that past in their own unique way.
I am elated to bring experts in their respective fields as well as honored guests to meet and greet our scholars.  We will host assemblies for the students throughout the month with the purpose of exposing our scholars to the importance of reaching out to the community, at large.
Our most exciting addition to this year’s events is the newly- enhanced Visual and Performing Arts Department’s presentation.  The teachers and their creative students have compiled a multi- faceted presentation under the leadership of Ms. Amanda Nagy that includes the dance, music and theater groups in the school.  My administrative team and I believe that providing our students with this creative forum has not only fostered a love of the arts but has helped shape our students into multi- talented young men and women.
Throughout the high school during this month, staff and students will be participating in both an essay an door decorating contest, along with a daily Black History Month trivia question.
With all that is happening in the school to celebrate Black History, it is my sincere hope that you will consider ways to honor those who have come before you, while also considering, what will YOU do to leave a memorable stamp in time?
Educationally yours,
Mr. Rashon Mickens
Principal, Abraham Clark High School
